Art has been used as therapy for centuries. It’s a creative outlet that allows us to express ourselves without having to explain or justify our feelings. Through art, we’re able to connect with others on an emotional level without having to say anything at all. We can use art as a tool for self-reflection; when we look at something we’ve created, it helps us gain insight into our own thoughts and feelings.
Art also helps us cope with difficult situations by giving us an opportunity to express ourselves in a safe space. It’s impossible to capture every emotion in words, but with art, we can create something that conveys what we’re feeling without having to put it into words. This is especially helpful for people who struggle with communicating their emotions or experience anxiety; art provides them with an alternate means of expression.

Art has the power to shape the crazy—to make sense out of chaos—and give us perspective when everything else feels overwhelming. Whether you’re a professional artist or just starting out, using creativity as therapy can provide immense benefits both physically and mentally—and open up new pathways toward self-discovery in the process! So don’t be afraid to pick up a paintbrush (or whatever medium you prefer) and let your imagination run wild! You may just surprise yourself with what you create!
