Daydreams and Gratitude

Daydreams and Gratitude

I find myself drifting in daydreams,
A world where wishes weave through seams,
Where everything is different, everything is new,
The life I’ve often imagined, painted in hues.

In these dreams, the world bends to my will,
But when I awaken, time stands still.
Reality is not what I had dreamt, not at all,
Yet, there’s beauty in the here, in the small.

The days pass by, slipping through my hands,
Like grains of sand in far-off lands.
I used to long for a different shore,
For a life that gave me more and more.

But now I see the treasures here,
The laughter, the love, the moments so dear.
What I have may not be what I dreamed,
But in the quiet, it’s more than it seemed.

Gratitude grows where wishes once thrived,
In the life I live, where I’ve survived.
For in the passing of time, I’ve come to know,
There’s beauty in the now, in the life I sow.

So I let go of the daydreams, let them float away,
Embracing the life that’s here to stay.
For what I have is enough, it’s true,
And in this moment, I’m grateful for you.

Though it’s not what I had dreamt of at all,
It’s in this life that I stand tall.
In the simple, the real, the everyday,
I find peace, I find my way.
