I’m still taking it all in. This past weekend @ArtEast_Ottawa Awards Exhibition was nothing short of surreal. To everyone who came out, shared a kind word, stood in front of my piece Hopeful, and took the time to connect—thank you. Your presence meant more than you know.
Creating art is often a solitary process, but to see the work come alive in a space filled with people, energy, and conversation—that’s the moment it breathes beyond the canvas. The ArtEast community is full of talent and soul, and to be part of it, let alone recognized within it, is a true honor.
To the judges: thank you for seeing something in Hopeful. Thank you for taking the time to engage with all the work displayed and for giving so generously of your attention and care. I’m deeply humbled to have received the 1st Place Award in the Mixed Media category. It’s a moment I won’t forget.
This piece came from a personal place, and to have it resonate with others is the most meaningful reward of all.
